This was the year I wanted finally to make it up to American Basin, but the area has long been overrun with out of state vacationers and nuisance UTV "enthusiasts". That and being coupled with my genuine distaste for both groups, wouldn't allow me the adventure. It's okay, they can have it. My favorite Colorado mountain valley did not disappoint me in terms of solace and nourishment. I've also been missing out on wildflower photography. My first venture doing so and came away with some memorable scenes. Lighting was tricky as clouds from an incoming front were playing with setups. I definitely need to work on my macro skills. Stumbling upon the waterfall was an unforgettable gem. Wonderful to see everything so lush and green. Too often it is the other side of the coin and tinder dry. Looking forward to my Autumn trip in this area. Common locations such as Ohio Pass, East Beckwith and Long Draw as seen throughout my site. Choosing not to share other locales to protect the area.
